MyGut is an easy-to-use app that helps individuals living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to take control of their health by tracking, managing, and understanding their journey.
Client Challenge
Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of everyone impacted by these diseases. Through discussions with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and international patient organizations, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada identified that existing self-management apps did not address the comprehensive needs of individuals living with Crohn’s or colitis. The health charity engaged in collaborative discussions with gastroenterologists and clinical subject matter experts to identify and establish health-tracking tools based on international standards for MyGut. With this in mind, the health charity collaborated with Clearbridge Mobile to create a unique self-management mobile solution that:
- Supports patients in learning more about Crohn’s and colitis
- Provides patients with the ability to easily track their health and wellness on a daily basis
- Enables patients to become more involved in decisions about their care
- Encourages conversations with healthcare providers
